Researchers have assembled a complete logic circuit along the length of a single carbon nanotube, 18 µm long, stretched out on a surface. The circuit contains ten transistors, along with two more for reading out the signal. This structure demonstrates that "single-walled carbon nanotubes can be used as the basis for electronics, similar to the way silicon wafers are currently used".
